This massive telephoto lens before you was specially created for Sheikh Saud Bin Mohammed Al-Thani of Qatar, who paid exactly two million dollars for it a couple of years ago. Since this lens is a one-off model, we don’t know too many things about it, because no one actually had the chance to review it, but you could see a prototype at Leica’s headquarters.

Two Million Bucks and you can show up everyone.

I bought my Leica M4 cameras new in late 1960s, so about 60 years later, cameras cost about $10-$20 a year. Just had my first major repair on my 38 yr old MB 300D...cheapest car I ever owned. Sometimes buying quality (Nikons, Canons, Rollei TLR, an Hassys) is cheaper in the long run. My only mistake was my fragile, short lived Hasselblad 1000F, replaced by 2000FCM. Since original Leitz is long gone, i can’ speak for newer cameras.

When I was working in the camera store, we would get a few of those types. And there were a few who while not wearing it as a status symbol, couldn't shut up about the fact that they had a Leica and took pictures with a Leica. It's a very good camera, it does what it is intended to do in the way it was intended. But it isn't the second coming of Jesus.

TheFlyingCamera, you are absolutely correct. For the second coming one would need a Hasselblad.
