Shot my first roll of Svema 125 color from Russia. Shot it in a Zenit 3m that I just got. Got very good results from the flm and camera. J

A roll of Tri-X through a recently Soverized F2AS and three rolls of PanF+ through the 500C/m. Some E100G is thawing as I write, possibly to be run through my recently-acquired F3P.

It's a term that those of us who own Nikon F2 bodies use for when someone's camera has been serviced by Sover Wong in the UK. He's considered the Nikon F2 guru.

http://soverf2repair.webs.com is his website. One of my F2AS bodies has been serviced by him. Works better than new. Shutter is now 1/4 stop accurate compared to Nikon's standard, which was 1/2 stop. Advance mechanism is smoother than my F3P's mechanism... My other F2AS goes to him at the beginning of the month.

Just finished a roll of E100G in a recently Soverized F2AS body. As John noted, Soverized bodies are serviced to tighter specs than Nikon's. Curiosity got the best of me and I started to take a close look at my F2AS, post Soverization. The man's work is meticulous! All dents (irrespective of size/location) were pulled; felt on mirror bumper and door look factory (straight, neat, no residual glue), LEDs are clean and clear (Sover even installed new batteries in the body!); and the body has a smoothness (yes, I know that is hard to quantify!) that it has not had in some time. As John has stated, Sover is the "F2 guru." The man clearly loves his work (he will even tell you he treats your F2 as though it's his own); needless to say, two more of my F2 bodies, as well as their respective MD2 drives (brass re-gearing) will be making the trek to the UK in the near future... Next up: Running some HP5+ through one of (also, recently, Soverized, F2 (DE-1) bodies...

Shot some more of my stash of Kodak Plus-X. Gosh I love that film. Develop in HC-110

But I've got a ton of Tmax 400 and Tri-X 400 to use up. Then on to the Neopan 400 I've been saving. Gotta get shooting like 4 rolls a week just to get through it all this decade.

Two rolls of E100G. One through the Soverized F2AS, the second through an F5. After three cloudy, occasionally rainy days, the sun asserted itself this pm. Light was gorgeous, and the city beckoned. Up early in the am to trek down to Steveston and Ladner to shoot fishers, boats and whatever else looks interesting. Some more E100G in 35mm will be run through the Nikons and some 120 E100g and PanF+ will be shot with the Hasselblad.

We are in New Orleans where so far I've shot part of a roll of Precisa (aka Provia) 100, part of a roll if Provia 400x and, at a clown show in a dark warehouse, most of a roll of TMZ. This has been a good demonstration of why I dislike 36x rolls.

You're not the only one. I prefer the 24 exp. rolls. Thankfully Harman still makes Ilford and Kentmere in 24 exp. In the UK it is difficult to find any Kodak B&W roll or any Fuji slide film on that length.

I wasted one frame of the Provia 400X removing and reloading it. Theoretically my Pentax LX allows loading back to the same frame but I never quite figured our or trusted that. The Precisa 100 is still in my MX so no waste just not done yet. And the TMZ that I had loaded into the LX after removing the 400X mid roll was at frame 32 (next frame) so I just shot five here in our room. My remaining TMZ stash is in date and cold stored but I need to use it up anyway before it expires and I'll move to D3200 which I already use in 120.

Years ago I used a Canon EOS1N and an EOS3. Both were set on the custom functions to leave the film leader out when rewinding. As I kept switching B&W with slide films and forgetting to mark the films that were partially exposed, I end up having 4 or 5 films with the leader out and not knowing if they were fully exposed or not. After fiddling with it a few times, I gave up trying to remove films mid roll.

For me it is also a psychological matter: when I was a kid and had to ask my parents to buy a roll of film for me, invariably it would be the cheapest 12 exp. 110 or 135 rolls. When I had a 24 exp. roll that was a feast!
Sometimes I miss the 12 rolls. Nowadays, I can always get a 6x6 camera and get back to shoot 12 exposure sets!
