As I recall, it was rumored to be Plus-X. But the roll or two I tried didn't respond like any Plux-X I ever used, so I have my doubts that it was a direct analog to any of Kodak's label products. Still begs the question of "What the heck was it" though.
Maybe Freestyle got a good deal on one of Kodak's experiments.:whistling:

Development times in D76 match Plus X, might have been an orphaned roll that had been refrigerated, if made at the end of production might not behave like fresh Plus X.

Does the package indicate made in Japan or USA? That will tell you which it was. Arista did package some Acros, but with a different name, I think.

Freestyle’s repackaged Acros was called Legacy Pro. Here’s one of the few rolls I still have in my freezer.

Arista Premium 100 was obtained from Kodak. but it was rated at 100.

likly from the Plus-x family, My evil guess is that Plus-X reversal movie film (normally only supplied in 16mm) was reformulated around that time, as the Bleach bath for that process was changed. the reversal film did have a data sheet note that the speed would be 100 (as movie film) if processed as a negative. this was at a time when Kodak was scrambling a bit and so might have been more inclined to salvage an otherwise unsalable master roll as private label film

the Premium 400 was apparently Tri-X although the possibility that it was also Tri-X reversal is a possibility.

the Fuji made films were called Legacy Pro and were equivalent to Acros in 100 ASA, and Neopan 400 Presto in 400 ASA. I had purchased some of both the Neopan 400 and the lagacy pro and the emusion numbers were in a simalar range. the Bulk Legacy Pro came on metal spools that were stamped "Fuji Film" on the side.

freestyle has always been good about differentiating the various private lable films to make it easy to batch them for processing. The EDU Ultra is Foma. The Arista II the next Generation was Agfapan. the regular EDU was Forte.
