What film is in trouble for been dis-continued?

Why does everyone assume E6 is dead? My local lab tells me that they are processing it every day of the week, its C-41 for them that is in the minority.

We can still buy new film cameras, film, paper, and chemicals. Stop worrying and keep shooting, or as the Ilford ad states, keep calm and keep shooting HP5.

Regardless of what Kodak has done or is doing, film is still being made by several manufacturers. Per some video whose link was posted elsewhere that I am not going to try to find because I am sitting in an airport, we are past the bottom. Film sales had been on the rise.

It is not a fear of not being able to buy supplies, it's more of being able to afford to buy supplies. I have been concentrating efforts to make my own chemicals. When Kodak dropped their chemical business, we lost the supply chain with it. Prices a. Climbing to 'stupid' levels, here in Canada. There are real reasons to be concerned..

Kodak's film sales tanking does not mean film sales are down overall.

True. The last time I bought ektar and tmy was just before the price got hiked above 30 for a 120 5 pack. I've been shooting European, Chinese and Japanese films ever since.

I think transparency film will go first, since it almost has. Your great-grandchildren will probably have B&W materials available -- maybe not from the same manufacturers. After all, we can still buy oil paints, watercolors, and I seem to recall there is even a company still making buggy whips.

No idea, but I didn't address pricing. I think it's pretty obvious as production volume of any item goes down, some economies of scale are lost which will bump prices up. Since the buggy whip market (ignoring the non-horse cart applications) is now the province of hobbyists who may have substantial disposable income, buggy whips may be appearing with braided emu leather covering and silver fittings at ridiculous prices. I don't actually use any such items, I am just aware they are still made.

Don't lie, Dave. I'll bet you're as naughty as they come. Just be careful with those whips. And NO, I'm not interested in finding out the truth. I'm okay with my solitary life searching the web for pretty naked ladies.
