What film for Diamond Fuji?

Diamon Fuji is around the corner and I want make a trip out there this year to watch and photograph it.

Considering this is going to be a very high contrast scene, what type of film would be best suited for this?
I'll be shooting on a tripod with an M6 and a 35mm and a Nikon F3 and a 50mm.

First of all, color or black & white? If color, slides or prints?

Not decided. I assume some type of negative to handle the dynamic range better.

Black & white: Kodak Tri-X 400, Ilford HP5+
Color Prints: Kodak Portra 160 or 400, Fuji Pro 400H
Color Slides: Ask someone else

Amazing scene there! Don´t worry about the film, if it´s going to be negative it will probably have enough dynamic range. The subject is going to be so wonderful I doubt you have to be concerned about the subtle differences in film types.

I would use Kodak Portra 400.,
