I've had this on my flickr for quite some time, and after getting a lot of positive feedback, I wanted to see what you folks thought.

I think there's a lens Jim Galli doesn't have. :D

It's nice and sharp where it needs to be... and the softness outside the hyperfocal area really helps to emphasize the subject. Beyond that, I'll let the LF shooters give you a more detailed response.

Cheers

It has an absolutely amazing three-dimensionality about it. It's also fairly timeless, could be from twenty or thirty years ago. The out-of-focus patterns are interesting ( I refuse to use that b word). I hope it's all analog???

Oh yes, all analog. The actual contact print has a much better tonal range as you can imagine. BTW, this is also the first shot I ever took with an 8x10 camera. Like literally the first sheet I ever slid in.

to be honest, I think this belongs in the galleries...

Pay 25$ - support APUG, and get access to all the amazing images in the gallery, and the feedback, that follows..

(sorry to be the odd man out, but I think we ought to support this site as much as we can..)

Good portrait even if a bit dark and contrasty on my crt. I'll tell you one thing I don't have, and that's an 8X10 camera I could call 'fluffy'! I've got hoary and beasty and fatty, but no fluffy.
