Who never?

This is how I used to do when I started shooting and had a single flash. And how I shot many events.

Saudek - decades of his best work. One light. (Well, he could sure tint some photos too…)

I admire his work, specially for the richness he makes out of simple tools.

The same path I like to follow with my simple cameras and photographs with single or 2 lights.

We don't need fancy tools in order to create a rich and good works.

When I use flash I use bounce flash if possible. I do not like the direct head on flash.

I had an interesting conversation last night. I was speaking with an industrial/commercial interior designer and she said they are moving entirely to LED lights. Some of the pot lights she is using cost $400Cnd each. Why? Because they give the right temperature, and more impressive to me, the right CRI. These industrial/commercial interiors are being designed with videography in mind, so all the lighting will provide the best possible light for video. I don't think these are studios either, but otherwise "normal" work spaces.
It's a brave new world.
