Ok, i admit i have G.A.S. i know it but its ok since Christmas is coming

Anyway, i have an old Canon 5D (original) which i love for its excellent IQ especially when used with my beloved 24-105 f4L, but problem is that i have been itching for years to get my hands on a 1D style body. Something about the looks and (theoretically) the feel/balance and quality of a true pro body...

So, unfortunatelly my budget does not reach up to a 1Ds Mark II and i do not like some specs of the 1Ds Mark I (i.e. no CR2 files) so i was thinking of the 1D Mark II. I know its not a full frame model and its only 8mp but i read good things about it and with my 24-105 perhaps i will have a blast with it.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions most welcome

Thanks!

Not sure how the 1D MkII is but I used the Canon 1Ds Mark II for quite some time and enjoyed it. Great camera. However, when I cut back I did sell it and stay with my old Canon 5D. It was easier to work with for most of what I did so the larger size didn't make sense.

My experience with megapixels is that they are nice, but certainly not critical with any camera. I still love working with my old Nikon D2H and it only has 4 megapixels, but very, very nice ones.
