What a luxury to be able to print all day and not have to tear down the whole darkroom and return the room to bathroom status.

My accountant took the kids down south for the week. Left me home alone with the dog. I set up the darkroom and left it! This is the third day this week that I've spent in the dark...what a luxury!

Congrats. It is nice indeed.

I will consider things luxurious around here when I can actually print in the day time! I have done it before, even with the visible light leaks, but I really prefer not to.

Or worse yet forget to feed the dog.

...three cats here! They come and keep me company while I print.

Where in CA are you?

I think back (a mere 11 years ago) when I had the luxury of time to print as often as I wanted to, doing 2 or 3 all-nighters a week. And I could take off for a week or so a few times a year to photograph beyond the local area. Then the triplets arrived, and now my 50's...and I am lucky to do one all-nighter a week, with one or two longish nights (until 2 or 3am) a week. Would not trade the boys for anything, but do miss the time I could dedicate purely to photography.

My "accountant" is leaving for a week starting Labor Day -- but without the kids (She is going to Central America to learn Spanish for her job). So I will have no evening darkroom time (the darkroom is 10 miles away) while she is gone. But me and the boys will be backpacking for a couple of nights on Redwood Creek (Redwood National Park), then the Boys start the 6th Grade and we'll just play bachelors until my wife returns.

So Brad, enjoy the luxury -- get a lot done and have fun!

Don,t like to crow but I have a shed at the top of the garden wherein sits my full time darkroom. Could not hack the part time model so made the space, compleat with HiFi and fridge ( warning:- keeping beer in the darkroom fridge can effect your ability to focus enlargers ).
I have the darkroom, all I need now is the time, ever noticed how life interfears with ones plans for the day.

Enjoy your time.
Regards Paul.

When I had a full time and dedicated space for my darkroom, I noticed that also re: the beer and the enlarger.

After some time of bad results, I finally settled on the proper dilution to get things done as they should be (blood in the alcohol system).

Not an issue now as I don't have a wet darkroom, nor do I drink anymore. Still dreaming and drooling.

Luxury indeed.
I have axcess to a big darkroom day and night..

unfortunately it is not in my house, so I have to walk for about 30 sec. to get there..:D

12 enlargers, going from 24x36, via medium format to LF size (the biggest is the Durst 138 for 13x18 cm negs - no 8x10 I'm afraid - yet...)

I use it mostly when there are no students at the school (which unfortunately isn't for the longest period of time). but sometimes with students present there.
my "problem" is of course, that if I'm there, the students will ask me all kinds of questions - it is almost impossible to be "lesf in peace"..

but I am not complaining!

(can't, as I have no kids, and my girlfriend is in the darkroom even more than me... )
