Wetting agent to prevent strike on paper.

Hi all

I want to know if some of you using wetting agent on paper just before to hang the print to dry?

I ask, because sometimes my prints looks OK before drying and after I see some marks, streaks.
What are your experience with it?

I presume RC paper? Do you use a squeegee to remove surplus water?

No. It's unnecessary. As @miha implies, try using a squeegee if you're not already doing so. This can prevent drying marks especially on RC paper.
Also, FB paper is much less prone to these kinds of issues - although this is of course of little help if you prefer using RC.

I squeegee all my prints (on the bottom of an upside-down tray) to remove excess water. An appropriately-sized windshield wiper works very well.

If this doesn't solve your problem, you may be getting scum from somewhere in the processing (old fixer is a likely culprit).

Another possibility; if you use an ion-replacement water softener, there can be lots of salts in the water. If this is the case, soak the prints in a tray of distilled water for a few minutes prior to squeegeeing.

You could try filtered or distilled water as the last step, it worked for me with my issue of water spots.

No, only if there is some problem with your local water that you can not correct otherwise. Certainly not as a matter of course without a need.
