I am going to modify a sheet metal film holder for wet plate use. Is silver nitrate very corrosive on steel?
The film holder is made of steel, no plastic parts. I am not shure what kind of steel this is but it is thin and seems to be easy to form and weld.
How do I protect the steel against corrosion? Some kind of laquer or silicon spray grease? I dont want something that can migrate in to the collodion layer or on the surface that affect developing. Any ideas?
