Wet Plate Collodion - ortho/panchromatic emulsion possible?

I am aware that the traditional wetplate formula with silver nitrate and bromide/iodine salt is only sensitive to Blue and UV light. What's stopping us from adding dyes (similar to gelatin emulsion formulae) to make the solution more sensitive to green (and potentially red)?

The book of Henry Klein "Collodion Emulsions" (1905) tells how to do color sensitizing of collodion.

However, there are some notices, that it will be difficult and require knowledge of chemistry. He emphasized that main problem will be halation effect:

As the effect of halation, however, is more marked with one dye than it is with another, the irradiation method of making half-tone negatives with collodion emulsion may be varied, according to the degree of , halation different eniulsions are subject to. Collodion emulsion without the addition of colour sensitizers is almost free from this defect
