Wet plate beginner

Sorry this has probably been asked before but trying to buy a camera for wet plate not sure what I'm looking at or for.what kind of holder etc for example let's say a description says that a camera is half plate this is just a size doesn't mean it's not just set up for film.
Badly in need of assistance

Yes. You want a plate camera and plate holders, not film holders. Quarter plate, half plate, and full plate all refer to the size of the negative the camera will shoot on. Be careful, as these tend to be older cameras and will likely require some repair work unless they’ve seen recent use and the previous owner repaired them.
