Weston Bibliography Blog

Very interesting. My general view of art critics has been improved by this.

YES! Thanks for this! Cant wait to read this, bookmarking for now.

I just pulled out my copy of California and the West by Wilson and Weston. I'll have to check out your link further...

In what specific way? Just curious...
In general contemporary critics seem to miss the point and wind up talking more about themselves than the art. That's not always true and refers to the whole concept of post modernism more than specific critics.

I guess I don't like someone trying to tell me what I should think or feel. For me Pepper 30, Cypress and the Dunes all make me feel a similar sense of wonder and curiosity. They make me think of the fact that things are more than they might seem at first glance and that the mind applies meaning to the patterns of nature.

Yes, I think I agree. Thanks for your response. However I'm usually able to dig through the horse poop and find a pony in most of thatt type of writing.

Here, this blog isn't so much something a critic wrote...it's more of a highly detailed bio, relatively free of opinion. I especially liked the descriptions of very long exposure times...that adds something to my appreciation of EW's work.
