Hmmm, thought that was a pretty long shot.

Do you live there or do you want to go there ? David is not a particularly handsome city, but it is surrounded by mega-diverse habitat, both, in the lowlands and in the highlands.

You're right, David is not very impressive. And for a Canadian - it was way too hot and humid. I spent most of my time in Boquete - being a diligent grandma to my newest grandchild. For various reasons, I had little chance to explore away from Boquete, so much of my photography was done within walking distance of my daughter's place. I'll likely be back ..... a granddaughter is a big draw.

Next time you are in David, drive up to Boquete and Volcan Baru. It is a pleasant two hour drive, the weather is perfect and you'll find unbelievable scenery. Vegetation and wildlife are amazing ! There used to be several ornamental plant farms in Boquete, open to the public, worth going through many rolls of film.

My daughter lives in Boquete. We went in and out of David to the hospital and doctors appointments. We were very close to Mi Jardin es Su Jardin, where I did a lot of photography, especially in the early mornings before anyone else got there. I spent most of my time looking after my baby as she had her baby. Things were not straight forward, so I spent more time looking after her than I anticipated, and saw much less of Panama than planned. Next time I'll go see the volcano, and get into the jungle to glimpse a quetzal.
