I'm planning an informal group of film photographers in the Kings Lynn area. We would meet occasionally, probably monthly, to look at prints etc. in a local pub. Weather permitting I'm also planning a couple of days out. I plan on starting in november

Anybody here interested?

As a relatively recent incomer to this area from the 'Far North' i.e. Scotland, I'd be delighted to meet other photographers from 'the wider Suffolk areas'. It feels pretty isolated down here, hence the forum membership!

I'd be interested in either (or both) this and an East Anglian group. I'm near Fakenham.

Hi All
I am planning to start the first get-together on Saturday 22nd November 2008. The venue will be decided when I know how many people are interested, but it will almost certainly be a pub in the Kings Lynn area from lunch time onwards. The general idea is chat, but feel free to bring a few prints, problems or gadgets for informal discussion.

Let me know if you're interested

The first meeting of the West Norfolk Film Users will be meeting on Saturday 22nd November at The Swan Inn, Nursery Lane, South Wootton, Kings Lynn, (see link below) from about 12:00 onwards. The pub does excellent real ales and good food. It may be a good idea to book if you want a full meal as it's quite a popular place Tel:01553 672084. Bring a few prints, problems or gadgets to chat about, or just come to be sociable!

Hi Rob.

Just seen this thread. As a newbie to APUG, I'm not really sure of the 'etiquette' but I might be in the vicinity on Sunday (taking shots of rock formations in Hunstanton, perhaps). Is it an 'everyone welcome' function or by invitation only? If I do arrive, I'll be the big lad in the Leica shirt (not that I have a Leica anymore - just that it's unlikely anyone else will be wearing one). If I'm not able to make it, I do hope there are others lined up as I live in Essex and it's always good to find kindred spirits - especially over a pie and a pint...!

All the best. Paul.

Hi Paul
There isn't really any etiquette. Anyone's welcome - the only requirement is an interest in film photography. Just come and meet people, eat pies, drink beer(or whatever) look at a few prints, gear etc. I've no idea how many will turn up yet, but about 8 people have expressed definite interest.

Look forward to meeting you

Sadly, I didn't make it further than my front room as I was feeling more than a bit 'under the weather'. Not alcohol-induced, either, I'd hasten to add. However, East Anglia isn't exactly huge and, as there's a few folk willing to travel, I'm definitely up for any future events. I'm also happy to offer a lift to anyone who needs one - assuming it's not way off-route.

All the best. Paul.

The next meeting of the West Norfolk Film Users is scheduled for Friday 16th January as many people found Saturday tricky. We going to meet at Thornham, on the North Norfolk Coast. I'll be at 'The Lifeboat Inn' at 12. I'll post a few more details nearer the time.

Time to bump this and put a bit of 'flesh on the bones'. We're going to meet at Thornham, Norfolk, at the Lifeboat Inn (see below) on Friday 16th January at 12, , but some of us will be around earlier. Thornham harbour is a fascinating place, with fishing boats in various states of decay lying in meandering creeks. There are a couple of rickety jetties and some ancient posts once used for drying fishing nets. There are also extensive sand dunes and a vast, empty beach about 20 minutes walk away. It really is heaven for the photographer!

Let me know if you intend to come. If it looks like there will be a few of us I'll book a table at the pub.

The Lifeboat does excellent food and beer, too!

I can't do the 16th, but do travel over to Norfolk on occasion from Staffordshire (On this occasion, for example, I'm visiting on the 18th!) - please keep me in the loop for any more meetings, by pm if you like.
Have fun

Hi Tom
It's all fairly informal. I plan on being in the Thornham area from 10 (ish) depending on the light for a bit of photography around the harbour area. We're planning on meeting at 'The Lifeboat' at 12 for drinks and lunch (if required). The general Idea is to bring a few prints or film-related gadgets for informal discussion. I would guess most people will be on their way about 2-3ish. So far about 5 people has said they intend to come.

Hope you can make it
