Hello all,

I developed a batch of 4x5 sheets last night (Kodak Ektar 100), and three of the negatives had large blobs on the same side of the film. The blobs are not identical. I used the Unicolor C-41 powdered kit.

This Is the third time I have developed sheet film in the Yankee tank, and I haven’t seen this yet. The interesting thing is that some of the negatives came out fine, and some had the blob. The blobbed negatives were all from when I took a long exposure of the sunset (see scan). This leads me to think it was not a chemistry problem, though the translucent lines were making me think I had under filled the tank or improperly agitated.

It’s looking maybe light a leaky film holder? Would love any input! The fact that they are all in the same spot makes me think that I did something wrong making the long exposure (I’m using a Graflex crown graphic).

Im kicking myself for not taking a picture of the negative itself before I left town, but if no one answers this today I will upload some.

here is a link to a scan. My phone is not allowing an attachment.

I'm not seeing a pic (the link might be blocked because you're new). If you can put the pics on flickr or something where you can give us enough info to find it without a link, that might work. Otherwise, it's really tough to figure it out with seeing it.

Welcome to Photrio.
The photo is probably too large to upload. Try re-sizing it down to 1000 pixels on the long edge, and try again.
We always are curious here to see blobs!
