Weekend Workshops at Cabot Head
Light and Composition - Photographing Nature

Dates: Friday May 5 (evening) to Sunday May 7, 2006

Description of Workshop: The workshop is designed for beginner to intermediate photographers interested in elements of composition, exposure, focus and the ethics of nature photography. Participants will practice photo techniques for the 'landscape' during excursions in and around the spectacular Cabot Head area. You will need to bring a digital or film camera with manual capabilities. During this spring weekend, participants can observe the workings of the research station with bird migration monitoring and banding activities on site.

Leader: Rob Cotton is a fine art photographer who has been involved in photography for about 30 years. He has pursued careers as a photographer, museum curator and journalist. Rob now lives near Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula commuting to work at Foto Art Camera shop in Owen Sound. Since 1998, he has conducted seminars and workshops on many aspects of photography. He classifies his work to date as 'landscape photography' and his work has been exhibited at galleries throughout the area.

Participant Group: Up to 12 adults.

Workshop Price: $250.00 all-inclusive.
Day rates available for residents of the Peninsula.
