Does anyone know of good websites correctly illustrating and discussing basic portrait lighting techniques? I'm teaching a general class and looking for some visual references to which students can refer.
Specifically, I'm interested in sites illustrating different lighting ratios and types of lighting setups (e.g., butterfly, short, broad, etc.), camera placement, and correctly describing how to determine lighting ratios and exposure. Many of the sites I have already visited have been just plain wrong in the information they provide.
If anyone remembers the old Kodak Professional Portrait Lighting Techniques book from the '70s (with a statuette on a red cover), that contains the kind of information and diagrams I'm looking for.
I also remember a portrait site where the studio portrait photographer went through the posing of subjects step by step, discussing and illustrating how to begin the pose by having them place a foot here, then shift weight, etc., until the full pose had been achieved. The images were very dated in terms of wardrobe (again 60s-70s), but the info was classic. Unfortunately, I lost the bookmark when a computer died.
Thanks for any pointers.
