Here's just a sample of the many internet resources I have bookmarked. All these links are good at the time of this posting.
What are some of yours?

Regards, Art.

Art,
Excellent set of links. It would be veryu cool iif everyone would add their favorites as well.

The GIMP - http://www.gimpguru.org/Tutorials/

There are also some links inside individual tutorials to equivalent Photoshop tutorials for those who might want to note the difference in methods / approaches / commands.

Photography FOSS (free open source software) listing

Pat David has a new site for a blog, forums, and a list of currently available free software pertinent to photography.

The software list, with icons for which operating systems are supported, is at https://pixls.us/software/

Great list. Tjhe resources are still valuable and helpful even though most of them are created a decade ago.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/adjust-vibrance.html

Explains clearly and simply one of Photoshop's most useful and subtle tools:

Vibrance and Saturation sliders easily accomplish wonderful adjustments that would be nearly impossible with physical masks. Can transform a somewhat dull file into something more lively...

Books all do terrible jobs trying to describe what Adobe has done so clearly on this link.
