Water/drying marks won't go away!

I have a problem negative. I made one good print from it before some accident (likely dropping it) caused me to wash the film again, and ever since, it's had these strange drying marks. It looks like dust, but it's in a regular, linear pattern and they keep reappearing every time I re-wash the negative. I've tried washing at least half a dozen times with Photo-flo and without, but I'm still stumped. Any ideas on what I should do? Attached is a scan of a print made from the offending negative and a close-up of the scan so you can see what I'm talking about.

The marks are there to stay. re-washing sometimes helps if it's caught early and the film has not had a chance to dry completely... I think this time, it's a gonna. I know what you are going through as I just recently started to get film anomalies after years of never experiencing them. I now use distilled water as the final rinse with photo-flo.... Seems to make a world of difference.

Look at the film closely to see exactly what it is. Try blowing on it and rubbing the crap with a tissue or something, then blow to remove dust (don't spit or use a duster.) this works for most everything for me. I used it with color negatives and worked like a charm.

If it's a base scratch, take some of the oil from the side of your nose and rub it on the base of the film before printing.
