Hey, I'll be in DC June 15-21 or 22? Would love to meet with some of the locals for lunch, or half day of shooting, Brats and beer, wine and cheese or...whatever.

When does your show open? Maybe, we could get up a group of APUGers to take in the show?

We should do lunch at the National Gallery (even though I'm sure they won't have soft shells) and then you can take in the Misrach show while you're there.

Nothing lowbrow about the cafeteria at the National Museum of the American Indian--the food is good! Brad--crabcakes are traditionally MD or VA blue crab meat held together by a little bit of breadcrumbs, egg, butter, or mayo and Old Bay seasoning. If you guys set a date and time I'll see if I can make it. Another good choice close to the NGA is Teaism.
 
Would a "long lunch" at one of the above mentioned cafeterias on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday work?

Jim- the cafeteria is in the new Native American Museum building- between the Air & Space and the Botanic Gardens.

Lunch is tricky for me since I work over in Arlington and would have to drive in to town. A beer and/or dinner after work is much more manageable - there's a Gordon Biersch near the National Portrait Gallery/Museum of American Art and the Spy Museum that's good, not too snooty, and brew their own onsite.

The museum closes at 7pm.
 
I can probably come over either on the 21st or the 15, in which case I can lead you to the frybread and tamales...

Keith- Tom Sarri's Orleans House is no more. They're tearing down the building to make another office tower I believe. As to the day of the event, I'm not picky. Y'all decide. If it is a weeknight, Tuesdays or Thursdays are preferable to me because my partner has school those nights and I'm on my own. The 21st is not good for me as I have my last volunteer shift at Artomatic that day, helping with deinstallation. If you want to get together on the 15th, that is the closing day for Artomatic, and we could go see the show.
 
During the week, lunch is best for me. Evenings are doable, but difficult. Since lunch knocks out both Scott and Keith, let's do this on one of the two Saturdays.

We'll have plenty of time and Brad will (maybe) be able to see all 3 exhibitions - Zaida Ben-Yusuf and Steichen at the NPG, Misrach at the NGA and (should we settle on the 21st) Brett Weston at the Phillips. So my vote is for Sat. the 21st. Nothing gets my blood up like a good exhibition at the Phillips anyway. That's a great museum. I'll be bringing all my Lodima Brett Weston books to this one to do side-by-side comparisons with Brett's originals.
