Two Photographic History Decorative Plates
As part of their 27th year anniversary celebration, School Pictures Inc. gave a photographic history plate to their employee and friends of the company. One side is 10 segments showing significant photographic historical happenings. On the other side is text explaining each of the happenings. The plate is tinted, transparent curved glass. Condition is very good to excellent. No chip or cracks. Printing quality is excellent. Size is 9x9 inches. Total curvature from back is 5/8-inch.
In 1980, Eastman Kodak Company, as part of their celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the 1880 founding of Eastman Dry Plate Company, gave a high quality pewter plate to their employees. The Winton Plate is 9 3/4-inch diameter, .25-inch thick, and weighs 1 ¾-pounds. It depicts a photograph being exposed with the 1888 Kodak Camera and the slogan “You press the button We do the rest”.
