Hi Mike,

I had the Warsaw Artistic Photography Festival pencilled in as a possible if I could find a cheap bus.

Only the Polish version of the website’s programme appears to work at the moment and the exhibitions are listed as two sub-groups Polish ones and invited Islandic ones.

Calendar
http://www.wffa.eu/kalendarium.html

Programme
http://www.wffa.eu/program_glowny_wystawy.html

Under the programme you get the title of the exhibition and a list of photographers (each being a blue paragraph of text). Click on one of these and you get the text and gallery address.

Best of luck with Google translation - but you should be able to track some shows down.

Bests,

David.

Blimey - just like London buses!!

Just went out for a coffee and there was an article in the paper about a current exhibition of early photographs of Warsaw at the History Meeting House:

Let us know if you find any hidden gems.

Bests,

Thanks David.

I did see a poster today for Wffa but no other mention of it anywhere. Will try to squeeze a couple in tomorrow including the History Meeting House which is part of the festival. I walked right past today. Then to Lodz for the festival.

I did go to the Ralph Gibson today. Hmmmm. I liked the show, and really have no problem that it is at a Leica Gallery, sponsored by Leica and after 50 years of film Mr G is now using a Leica digital. I certainly have no problem at all with digital in general, but thought it a little bit overdone in the film to digital message though whatever noise/grain which was added was pretty convincing though if you want to look like film then.............

Prints were quite red too though the book had very good neutral reproduction and my favourite shot wasn't in the exhibition.

But still, all very much like Ralph Gibson.
