The high slide for the L-398 can be bought new from B&H or Adorama cheap; I think its about $10. I wonder if it is the same as the one for your meter?

These are commonly lost and can be found aftermarket. There is usually at least one for sale on eBay at any given time - for a few dollars.

One discussion I found indicated that the slide for the L398 would NOT fit. There are none for the L-28C or C2 on the auction site at this time.

This is the straight scoop from MAC the US distributor:

"The 398 slide will fit into the 28C’s slot, but once it is in, the dome cannot lock into place. However the dome can be put back in place, and the meter used, but you would either have to use the meter “on its back”, or hold it in with a couple small pieces of tape."

So I'm still looking for a "high" (bright light) slide for the L-28C or L-28C2.
