Hey fellow film enthusiasts,

I have a Rittreck 5x7, it's awesome, but it's also heavy (I might sell it here); I've narrowed down my replacements to two, six-pound, options:

  • Chamonix 57Fs-2 - I'm familiar with their cameras.
  • WALKER TITAN XL 5x7 - fixed back, my goal is architecture, including some very tall buildings, and I wonder how it can handle a heavy lens, like my 120mm SW f/8. Half the price of the Chamonix.

I'm seeking any advice.

Thank you

Did you see the KB Canham 5x7 in the classifieds section here? Just a thought. Same 6lb weight. Way more bellows extension than the Walker. Minimum bellows within 3mm of the Walker.

OK. I was just checking. I figured you had done a bit of research since you were down to 2 models already. Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle though. I've never had my hands on one of the Walker cameras.
I am selling my Chamonix 4x5 but it's not related to build quality or function at all. It's a great little camera, I'm just moving in a different direction.
