Hello Everyone, first time here having bought a CLR.

Just a bit advice to be honest. The viwefinder is completely fogged over. Let me explain....

I removed the top and the first lens of the viewfinder is prestine BUT whn we get to the yellow 'cupped' part, that is rough feeling and by no means clear. Next, the (i'm guessing its a prism) is what looks like its frosted.

I have also got a Vito B and an Automatic III which is incredibly good and I just want the CLR for the rangefinder and light meter. Other than the problem above its perfect (but albut unusable)

Is this wonderful little camera FUBAR or is there anything I can do to save it.

I don't mind having a go at a repair but a cursory web search has found nothing in the way of parts.

Any advice would be fab even if its a case of 'bin it'.

Thanx in advance

Dean

Oh and apologies if Ive posted this in the wrong place

I have one the same, common problem, can't be fixed without taking one out of another camera and transplanting. Will need to be exact same model as the finders differ from model to model.

Many thanx for the reply. I'd guessed as much that it was beyond buggered. Shame as It was almost love at first sight.

Finding a completely dead donor camera isn't going to be easy so I'm guessing i'll have to wait and see if something comes up on the bay.

I'll post a couple of pix later just to show it in its pretty state.

Thanx again

Keep on the look out, they turn up regularly. I actually have a CLR with a good finder in parts, but it wouldnt be worth the postage to the UK.

Yep, I intend to. I can imagine the postage cost from the other side of the world lol. You never know though....I might just through caution to the wind and send you the postage
Thanx for the reply, it all helps.

Cheers

Dean
