I've got an old Voigtlander Brilliant thats been in a box in a closet for years. The lens is a Skopor 75mm 4,5 in a Compur shutter. It appears to be in good shape but it needs a clr. There's fungus in the lens and the shutter sticks at slow speeds.
Is this worth fixing or should I send it back to the closet?

Larry

The Brilliant was in general a snapshot camera that looked like a TLR, but didn't have a focusing viewing lens in general (there may have been a focusing version, I'm not sure, but I don't think so). A Skopar is a Tessar-type lens, and not a bad one. It's not worth putting lots of time or money into, but if it isn't too difficult to remove the shutter, flush it out, and clean the lens elements, you've got nothing to lose by doing it.

Thanks David. That's kinda what I thought.
It seems it's not worth a professional cla but I might as well try it myself rather than just tossing it.

Thanks, JPD.

I have one. It's not a bad camera. It was incredibly cheap on eBay as well. I don't use it much (I actually use my Brownie Six-20 more), but it's a decent enough camera.
