I have a question on the Voigtlander Bessa I. Is the focusing scale in meters or feet? I am asking because I am interested in buying one and an accessory rangefinder. For obvious reason the unit on the camera and the rangefinder should match.
It depends on where they were sold. It's easy to find examples with the Feet scale in the US and UK. To be sure, look at the photos of the cameras or ask the sellers.
AS a general range, the close focusing on such a camera will be around 1 meter. Or 3 feet. So if the smallest numer is 3, 3.5, or such, feet. If the smallest is 1, 1.2, 0.9, meters.
Rangefinders, I bet tht if it has anything at 0.X, it is meters.
Mine is marked in feet, but you really don't need a range finder for it. Tho owners manual explains how to set the lens for "snap shots" which is basically setting the hyperfocal distance and not miss the shot.
Thanks for all the replies. I purchased a Voigtlander Bessa I from Blue Moon Camera (one of the sponsors) and they answered all the questions I had. The one I bought has the focus scale in feet.
