I'm a proud user of CV lenses on my leica M6 and CL.
I bought recently a second-hand 15mm f4.5 screw mount. A great lens, but came without the front faceplate, the ring where is printed "VOIGTLANDER SUPER WIDE-HELIAR 15mm F4.5 ASPHERICAL".
I noticed only 4 little signs of glue around the glass  ... so I think the faceplate was simply lost...

I'm sure this is not a gap for good shots, but I would like to have my lens in perfect conditions. As for you, is it possible to buy the "ring" anywhere?

Hope someone can help...

Try contacting Cosina or your national distributor for a replacement ring.

I have several lenses without a front faceplate... Adds a bit of mystery to what you're using... ;-)

Err that is very disturbing. Sounds like either you got a fake lens (though you probably would have known) or someone else is going to get one (more likely).

I say get the Empire Baby lens bezel that Nicholas pointed to and install that on your C/V 15mm. Or make your own.

I've seen many glued-on lens bezel covers come off. Sometimes temperature extremes and temperature swings will aid the process. I don't think finding a replacment would be easy, but cameraquest.com might be able to help, as they're a dealer and do C/V repairs.

The commonest reason for those bezels to come off is that the lens was owned by an M8 owner. You know how you need to use an IR cut filter with the M8? One will attach just nicely inside the petals of the built in lens hood, but you need a drop of silicon sealant or equivalent to hold it there. When you remove the filter to sell the lens.....

Problem solved !!! :D

Thanks to the courtesy of Chiif at www.chiifcameras.com in Singapore, who surprised me for le quality of his service, really friendly and warm.... (I hope I can post the link, for you need...). Just little euros to solve a problem that I was not able to fix with Italian, German and even English distributor

... Let me test the shipping service, but I think that my next CV lens will come from Singapore...

Chris is right... So, beware of M8 users when you buy a second-hand CV lens! :D

Best regards and thanks you all...
