Does anyone use or know about a Voightlaender Collinear Series II No 8 No 62247 Focus 17 inch Patent # 716035?

The Collinear is very similar in design to a Dagor, and the one I used to own performed about the same.

There are several different Collinears, with quite significant differences in design. I don't have all the data available here and now, but will be back hole late next week - I'll look into it then.

The similarities between the Dagor and the Collinear are minimal. Both are 3+3 design, but that's about the end if it. The Dagor has the 3 elements in each cell arranged as +-+ | +-+ around the stop, the Collinear is ++- | -++ if I remember correctly. That also means that all the glasses are different, with different refractive indices and dispersion. Oddly enough the end result of all the differences is, as Sandy says, a lens which performs much the same as a Dagor...

I will add that the Collinear's are not as compact as the Dagor's. The glass tends to be thick which makes for a longer barrel and less coverage. I have a #8 at home and played with it on the 1417 but can't remember whether it covered well or not. Certainly it should work for 11X14 and 8X20.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. I'll have to get a Packard shutter working. I've never had much luck with them.
