Hey folks,

I've just bought a Vitomatic IIa (NOT the Ultron) and have downloaded the manual from butkus.
In the manual, they speak about the flash synchonizing lever (V, M, X) however that lever is not on my camera.
I have a flash socket hole and an independent self-timer lever
And no strap lugs either.

I've looked at several pictures on the web and found both sides of the story but without any further details.

So, does anyone here have a clue about my camera ? Did they change the model at some point but without changing the name ?

Any info is welcome

Francois.

What shutter does it have, Voightlander used both prontor and compur shutters, and also a pronto shutter, The prontor has the V M X lever, the Compur shutters the Rapid was synced for x and the syncro compur has a a switch, normally green, which switched from m to x, and the pronto has only 4 speeds plus b,compur would have an independent self timer, which I would suggest you do not use as with the age of the shutter the self timer can jam the shutter needing an expensive repair. another difference between the compur and prontor shutters is that both the rapid compur and the syncro compur have a top speed of 500 and only one prontor shutter, the slk, has the 500, all others have only 300. Looking at my own vitomatic IIa it has the prontor slk shutter and the vxm lever, also vitomatic's, and also the vitos do not have strap lugs, my vitomatic and vito b has two sort of catches for the strap, useless, however, if you have the color skopar lens, you have a great usable camera capable of producing great results.
I hope the above helps

Thanks for the detailled reply.
Seems we have here an "hybrid" ?
My camera has a Prontor 500 SLK shutter. It has 10 speeds, from B to 500, but lacks the VMX lever ...
As for the lugs, I did not know another word for these "things" (English is not my primary language)
Anyway, Delta 100 loaded and off I go to test drive the new toy
I just wished I could figure out the age of the camera.

Thaks again for your help.

Francois.
