I have a Voigtländer Vito CL that has a play between the shutter housing and the mounting plate. See linked clip. I’ve been pouring over the Internet and a repair manual but can’t find anything on how it’s attached or how to fix it.

Can anyone help?

I know I could probably find another for little money, but this particular camera was my dads and holds a great personal value for me.

This might work, open the back of the camera and examine the inside area around the lens.
It's possible you'll find three or four screw heads which may be loose and responsible for the play between the body and shutter.
Its worth a shot...

This might be relevant, although maybe the dis-assemby does not go far enough
Seems your problem is some lose fixation between A and B (below) and I suspect that this involves a nut (ring with threads) at the back. I have two Vitos at home; will take a look and report on wednsday.
Looking from the back, with a good light, do you see a ring with two small slots?

Looked at one of my Vito C's. And realized that the fixation of the lens assembly is not visible from the rear, being hidden by light shield 13801-38, see
If it were me, I'd separate the front plate from the camera body as shown on that page, and re-tighten the fixation of the lens (optics+shutter) to the front plate. You probably need to pay attention to various linkages that will need to be re-assembled properly:
  • shutter cocking;
  • shutter release;
  • speed/aperture linkage to light-meter
Sorry I can't give you more specific advice, not having yet serviced a Vito Cxx

So. I had a more thorough look at the schematics and realised that it wasn’t really that complicated to take it apart. I took a deep breath and got to it. Found a loose lock ring in back of the lens. What’s not shown in the schematics is that you really don’t need to pull apart the top to access the mounting plate, just fold the leatherette aside and unscrew four screws. The top cover needs to come off though. Also worth mentioning is that the schematics don’t show all the parts. Be wary as you take stuff off. :smile:
