Posting this for a guy on another forum.

He wants to know what options he has for converting/adapting this to rollfilm use, hopefully 6x12. He was looking up Rada options, but didn't think that would help beyond 6x9.

Thanks

Murray

I don't know of anything else than the RADAs that will fit. He will have to make one, I guess...

Thank you.

Yours was the opinion I wanted. I let him know. Also let him know about Polaroid 150's and Kodak 3A's.

I didn't tell him about that hideous grafting technique of bisecting two folder bodies (25asa here did that with a pair of Moskva 5's to make a 6x18 monster).

It's not impossible to get nice 6x12 with an 9x12 Bergheil camera. A couple of month ago I've seen one of these very rare (thus expensive) 6x12 Rada casettes, made for their stereo camera's. But I can't think of a simple plug and play solution. If one have already a 6x12 roll film holder (from Horseman for instance) it might be possible to attach these things (well and working) on a Bergheil with some technical skills. Linhof made adapters for their Roll film holders for 9x12 camera's, but then you might want one of these rare 6x12 Linhof casettes as well (-:

Norm, Rollex 6x9 roll film holders were made to fit the early 9x12 Linhof's, I have one, they don't fit any of my 9x12 cameras.

Rather than adapt a roll film holder for 6x12 it would be a lot easier to make a mask and shoot 6x12 format images on 9x12 cut film, using film holders, after all 9x12 film is still available. A 6x12 roll film back would be bulky and make the camera less flexible. One major advantage of the 9x12 cameras is their relatively small compact size compared to their 5x4 cousins.
