I have a Vivitar 230LX now unusable, more than half of LCD segments don't show. I may try to open it and check contacts.
I have the accessories and the spot SLR attachment is nice. The inconvenient is the size but at least it's light.
The problem is that they seem to be very scarce. For a bit more than the price of another I could by a much smaller one like the Sekonic L-488 but I prefer wheels.
This 230LX displays the EV on the LCD , to be translated to the wheel, the 260LX has a rotating wheel. I'd prefer to buy a 260LX but unsure about long term reliability of the wheel mechanism.
Anyway, I am surprised these are so hard to find.

I am very happy with my Pentax Digital Spot Meter. It likes to hang out with my Hasselblads.

Pentax Digital Spot Meter.

i was considering to buy an older Pentax spotmeter V, the Digital sells at insane prices. In fact I am very tempted by a Soligor Spot Sensor II.
For size and versatility I like the Sekonic L-488 but it is LCD only and I love wheels/analogical scales.
The Vivitar LX system is bulky but versatile. It may have been manufactured in very small quantities though....I find only two in working order for sale in USA on all possible listings, and nothing in Europe nor Asia.

I opened my 230LX, it has two boards, but I can't find a way to disassemble further. So it will join my boxes of to-do & cemetery. Will keep looking online until I find some 130LX, 160LX, 230LX, 260LX working and reasonably priced in order to use as attachment for the spot SLR block....

another and better option for wheels is the Gossen Profisix and it's Profi-spot, but it's as big as the Vivitar LX , and the Profi-spot is very uncommon.
