This is Pentax-K mount with an EOS adapter.
This is an immaculate Vivitar 400mm extreme telephoto lens. Glass is flawless without marks or scratches, and multicoated; aperture operates correctly and smoothly, as does focus. The barrel is in excellent cosmetic condition without blemishes, and is very solid metal construction.
The mount is Pentax-K, and it comes with an EOS adapter so you can use it on any Canon EOS digital or film camera with normal infinity focus. With the right adapter you can also use it on micro four thirds where it becomes a whopping 800mm telephoto lens.
There is a solid tripod-mount built into the lens, so you can hang your little digital camera off the end of the lens while you're using your tripod, which you really should for a long telephoto like this.
The lens has a built in retractable lens hood, and comes with a hard leather case, both lens caps (front and rear), and the original box.
I have used this lens for birds; the reach is phenomenal, and the optical quality is very good.
Here are some photos I took with this lens on my Canon 350D / digital rebel XT (I hope you will forgive me, I don't shoot small format film
):
And more images of the lens itself:
The small amount of dust in this next image is on the surface of the lens and can be blown away with a rubber bulb. There are no scratches or marks on the lens surface. I forgot to blow the dust specks off when I was photographing this as I was photographing many items today:
