Vivitar 283 auto thyristor question

Should be good. I have a bunch of cheapo flashes here and need something I can turn the power waayyyyy down on. i've been ISO 100 and 200 in clubs here, can't hardly see what I'm focusing at lol

The second item down on this page: http://www.graphic-fusion.com/vivitar285mods.htm details a variable power modification and shows a circuit diagram which includes the connector pin out.

To adjust the power of a 283 manually the least expensive solution is to sell it and replace it with a 285.
