Just developed my first negs from my new Burke & James view camera and discovered a few blanks. In examining my Goerz Dagor lens with its AGC Prontor SV shutter I find that maybe ten percent of the time the shutter doesn't open when it is supposed to. And I think the shutter speeds could use a little adjustment. Any recomendations for who might be up to the task or maybe how I could service it myself?

The lens is dates from between 1920-22, but is in a post WWII rimset Prontor shutter, which won't have the correct aperture scale. In addition the lens mounting threads won't be correct.

Ideally you need to find the correct sized Dial Set Compur. However any good camera repair shop can service that Prontor. There are guides online as well.

So I bought a spray can of electric contact cleaner (zero residue). And sprayed onto the shutters and cleaned up with an air blower and q tips. Delicate job. It seems to have resolved my shutter problems. With any further problem’s I’ll send it off to Zacks.

Easy peasy, great work.
