I am trying some experiments with 3D printing and various Polaroid roll film cameras. I’m very excited about these, and getting potentially decent pics from 120 film. I do have one camera I’d like to use as well that so far I have not, and, of course, this is the family camera, not an eBay purchase like the others. And of course this is the one and only camera with a problem.

The shutter bounces. Not a metaphor, when you press the shutter button, it opens and then closes like it should, then partially reopens once and closes again. Like bouncing a basketball once before catching it. I’ve tried it at all shutter speeds and even the B setting, it happens on every setting. It is a Polaroid 700 model. Fully manual and mechanical.

There’s not enough value to me to send this to and pay a professional to look at (and I’m not sure one would, anyway), and I can just put this back in the closet and get another, but I really wanted to see if someone could point me to a way I could figure out what the problem is and fix it myself, so this could possibly be used once again. Any advice would be appreciated.
