DESCRIPTION: Anybody like vintage audio like I do?...Here's a vintage Pioneer SX-440 Stereo Receiver. Cool black face and nice wood cabinet. I don't know how many watts of power it has. As shown.

CONDITION: Very nice cosmetically. Receiver works and sound great. There are some of the back lights that are out and one of the speaker wire plugs are missing. However, this unit has an A & B speaker setting, so you simply attach the speaker wires to the B side and flip the switch to the B speakers. The little speaker plugs are fairly easy to find if you think you need to hook up 2 sets of speakers. They are frequently on ebay.

PRICE: $ 65

Price does not include shipping. Send PM with zip code for a shipping quote. USA shipping only. Shipping is thru the USPS only and will include tracking and insurance.

PAYPAL ACCEPTED (No echecks accepted from paypal). Money orders also accepted, but must be received within 5 days.

FOR PAYPAL PAYMENTS: If you want to pay for this item using paypal, send me a PM (private message) with the email address you use for Paypal. Once I have that, I will send you an invoice thru paypal. As soon as the invoice is paid, I will ship the item.

NOTE: I will only ship to “CONFIRMED” paypal accounts within the USA. If your paypal account is not confirmed or the shipping address is not in the USA, I’m sorry, but I will deny the payment. Also, please don’t ask me to ship to another address that’s not your registered and confirmed address with paypal. I won’t do it. I hope you understand.

FYI - I have 100% positive feedback as a seller on ebay. If you want to check my reputation let me know. MONEY ALWAYS REFUNDED IF NOT SATISFIED.

PS - 1-3% of my net sales are donated to this sight. I truly appreciate the venue they provide us.

Thank you for your time,
Tom

I don't quite think I could sneak that past my wife, but it looks sweet and if it works, that's a great price.

It's easy...You say..."Oh honey, I've had that old thing forever...I can't believe you haven't seen it before"...:D

I love the vintage audio...I have a monster Marantz receiver that eats up speakers and spits them out...I guess I could turn the volume down a little...

Thanks for looking!

Sorry...Not sure how I double posted.

12 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms.

Thanks...That doesn't sound like much in today's world, but I assure you...it's plenty! Vintage audio gear is amazing.

Man, that was hot shit when I was in college. Couldn't afford anything like that. I still use my old Sherwood 7150 receiver. It sounds great.

I had Sony version like this, same power level and design. Wish I still had it today, but then it would have been hacked by North Korea. at least yours is not a Sony.

PM sent.
I need one for my recently refurb basement and darkroom area.

I like the ones with discrete transistors because they can be restored,
while the later ones with dedicated ICs are more risky.

I checked that the circuit diagrams for the SX440 are available.
Here is my vintage electronics bench, some of this gear goes back to the 1960's.

Wow...Cool stuff!

Or get bigger speakers!

Steve.

Receiver is sold pending payment...Thank you.

Beautiful receiver. I have something similar, but it's a tube (valve) amplifier by Scott, model 299B. I had it restored with modified caps from Sonicaps by Craig Ostby. Sounds amazingly fast and punchy, with a liquid transparent sound that just brings the music forth in a very effective manner.
New isn't always better.

My Scott just quit on me (FM Receiver/amp) -- one of the main tubes has gone gray on top. Really needs some work, but I do not have the experience myself. The on/off switch has not worked for years...I have had to plug/unplug it. I think I replaced a tube 25 or so years ago.
