Truth be told, I have been having a love/hate relationship with this print since the day I bought it. It was love at first bite and then one day I woke up and did not want to look at it any more. After a lot of hanging it at various spots all around the house I have come to the following conclusion: it behaves like a Pointillist painting. It is wonderful as long as you don't move in too close. There is nothing physically wrong with the thing, no flaw that reveals itself only on close inspection. Rather, it just stops working when you move in for the inevitable handshake. It must be hung far enough away that you can simply see it rather than look at it or examine it. Around eight feet will do. At that distance you have a moody impression of the farmhouse that you used to pass by on your way to your grandparents' summer camp. And then one year it was not there any more. But step any closer and the whole thing evaporates.

The photograph is old. I was able to find 'Dr. Miller Jr.' after some searching at the time. I believe he was based in Buffalo or Rochester in the early part of the 20th century. I have not been able to find him again today after a few minutes on Google. The original mat was signed and titled by Dr. Miller, but was then partially overmatted (hideously) after many decades. I removed the overmat and that is why you can see traces of glue on the face of the original mat. The image is in fine condition with blanching only at the extreme edges that were in direct contact with the original, ancient mat. (Not visible since they are under the mat!)

If this photo moves you, just get in touch with a modest offer and I am sure we can work out an agreement. I would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it rather than the fastest PM'er. Buyer will pay only actual shipping. Enjoy.
