DESCRIPTION: Vintage, Ihagee Exakta VX IIb German USSR Camera, Lenses & Manual. Includes: Camera body (Ser. No. 1031596), Carl Zeiss Jena Panacolar 50mm f2 lens (Ser. No. 8059926), Aus Jena 135mm f4 lens (Ser. No. 8434880), leather case, split screen in prism finder, extra micro focus screen, and manual. As shown.

CONDITION: Camera and lenses are in very nice condition. Camera is working, rear viewfinder glass has a corner flake chip that does not effect focusing at all, fresnel screens have a little wear but nothing that hinders use. Both lenses are clean, clear, scratch free and fungus free. Focus on the 135mm is stiff from non use. Focus on the 50mm is much looser. Blades on both lenses are snappy and nice and clean. Leather case has finish wear but is intact and very usable.

PRICE: $ 499.00

NOTE: A recent sale on ebay for this USSR version sold for $560 + shipping…And it wasn’t nearly as nice as this one and had less included.

Price does not include shipping. PM with zip code for a shipping quote. USA shipping only. Shipping is thru the USPS only and will include tracking and insurance.

PAYPAL ACCEPTED (No echecks accepted from paypal). Money orders also accepted, but must be received within 5 days.

FOR PAYPAL PAYMENTS: If you want to pay for this item using paypal, send me a PM (private message) with the email address you use for Paypal. Once I have that, I will send you an invoice thru paypal. As soon as the invoice is paid, I will ship the item.

NOTE: I will only ship to “CONFIRMED” paypal accounts within the USA. If your paypal account is not confirmed or the shipping address is not in the USA, I’m sorry, but I will deny the payment. Also, please don’t ask me to ship to another address that’s not your registered and confirmed address with paypal. I won’t do it. I hope you understand.

FYI - I have 100% positive feedback as a seller on ebay. If you want to check my reputation let me know. MONEY ALWAYS REFUNDED IF NOT SATISFIED.

PS - 1-3% of my net sales are donated to this sight. I truly appreciate the venue they provide us.

Thank you for your time,
Tom

There is nothing soviet about this camera. This is like calling a Leica from that period a US camera.

It was a US Government requirement some Exacta items say "USSR Occup" and the Carl Zeiss (Jena) name couldn't be used either. VArex was already a registered trade name in the US so was shortened to VX for the US market,

My fault!
Sorry Tom, I thought you made a mistake.

(I did not see that mark on the body. It is weird anyway.)

I collect Exakta cameras and my Sonnar is probably the sharpest 135mm lens I have. The Exakta is one of the more user friendly vintage cameras available. There are a potful of gourmet lenses (Rodenstock, Schneider, Zeiss, Steinheil, and Angenieux, among others). Many SLR camera makers in the early 60s offered adapters to use Exakta mount lenses on their cameras to entice Exakta owners to switch to the newer cameras and bring their Exakta mount lenses with them (Konica and Canon, for example).

For anyone interested in the lawsuit between East and West Zeiss, here is some good history: http://openjurist.org/433/f2d/686

BTW - Another member sent me a PM regarding the shutter curtains...He said it was common in these cameras...However, the curtains on this camera are in great condition and have no pinholes. Thank you bunglebugbob for bringing this to my attention.
