DESCRIPTION: Vintage, 1940's-1950's, 4x5 large format double monorail view camera with Kodak Anastigmat 203mm 7.7 lens, Kodak shade and yellow filter. Lens board has a 38.5mm hole which would accept more modern lenses. Maximum bellows draw is about 12". Ground glass viewing screen mounted into a rotating back. Camera features rear swing, shift & tilt, front has rise, tilt, swing & shift. Camera is made completely of metal, has a tripod mounting plate and is very durable. The camera was made by the Brand Camera Co., Los Angeles California. No film holders are included. Weight of camera is about 7 lbs. As shown.
CONDITION: Camera is in very good condition for it's age and it is fully functional with a tested light tight bellows. One knob on the left side is not original to the camera but works fine. Lens is also in good condition for it's age and the shutter is working at all speeds and seems very accurate. Lens glass very good for age, but has what looks like small specks of separation. It’s not easy to see and I don't think it affects the images at all. (Pear picture was done with this lens and camera). Ground glass is in great shape too and seems like a very good quality screen. I found it very easy to get a sharp focus. All in all, this camera isn't a Horseman or Sinar, it's kind of clunky and primitive...but it gets the job done.
