Woo-Hoo! I got a print accepted in the Viewpoint Gallery's juried Alt-Process exhibit. I'm thrilled, as this is my first acceptance into a juried competition. I know some of us other APUG'ers are in the show, so why don't y'all post up and if the photo(s) they accepted are here on the gallery, put a link up so we can see them!
Here's mine...
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Forgive my ignorance but I take it this isn't the Viewpoint Gallery in Halifax, NS, Canada? Not that I'd mind having a juried alt-process exhibition in my local town.
This one is in Sacramento, California www.viewpointgallery.org As one of the 2 jurors for this show, let me just say it was a difficult but fun task to review all the work. I think there were about 300 entries from around the globe, of which we accepted about 50. The work was judged both in terms of content (ie was it a good image) and process. We wanted to include as many different processes as possible since this exhibit is intended to be both aesthetically pleasing and educational. So, less common processes had a better chance of getting in than say, platinum/palladium or cyanotype.
Kerik - a big thanks to you for judging and organizing this exhibit. Alt processes don't get enough exposure or credit, and it is thanks to events like this that they begin to get some of their due.
