Hi all,

Just stumbled on this documentary showing Sebastião Salgado in a dialogue with writer John Berger. It goes quite deeply into Sebastião Salgado's motivations and thoughts behind his work with as the lead Sebastião's "Migrations" book touching on world globalization, and I found it both highly moving and revealing.

Please note that there are some very graphic and shocking scenes in here, as Sebastião of course took on some of the worlds most difficult conflicts and problems, but it is well worth the 50 minute watch. There is absolute phenomenal documentary photography in here...

Parts 1-5 on YouTube in the right order for watching:

Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if this is available on DVD. Not big on watching long stuff on utube

This is available on DVD, although I can't seem to find it on sale anywhere. The NY Public Library's Mid-Manhattan Branch has it for lending, and that is where I checked it out and burned into my hard drive (not entirely legal, I know, but after watching it, I had to keep it for repeated viewing).

Spectre of Hope available at Icarus Films for $390. Guess I'll tolerate the YouTube version.
The interview is thought provoking and the images are spell-binding.
