I am selling my Leica IIIc SN# 490036 (post war). This camera is in excellent condition in all respects. The prior owner told me he had a recent CLA with new shutter curtains (it certainly appears so). All functions work well. The cosmetic condition is also outstanding with only some minor marks on the baseplate and some minute specks of pitting on the chrome plating near the open/close control. Sold with as shown with a takeup spool.

This camera is a real classic and it's also a pleasure to shoot with. It exhibits mechanical precision and fit and finish generally unavailable today. It only weighs about 15 ounces and with a collapsible lens one can easily slip it into a coat pocket. Naturally a large variety of compatible thread mount lenses are available (and most are of exceedingly good quality).

Price: $300 plus insured shipping. I ship to most countries.

I have had a IIIC Post war , I think this serial number indicates 1946 or 1947. Its a wonderful camera and sharkskin is delightful to hold . Very fast to street photography and viewfinder and shutter is legendary.
When you hold it with one hand , it stops absolutely horizontal in your hand. You can cock the shutter with your second right hand finger with moving your finger tangential to the screw. Hold the camera , move your right hand second finger parallel to the right side cylinder and all is ready. I learned from one of the Master of Leica , Magnum photographer Ara Güler.

IIIc Still Available?

Dave,

I saw that a PM had been sent yesterday on your IIIc. If that is not an offer, or does not pan out, please PM me here with Paypal information. I'll buy it if the other guy doesn't.
