This is an early example of the renowned Yashica-Mat twin lens reflex, a serious Japanese-made competitor to the 3.5 Rolleiflex models of its era. This was made about 1957 according to sources that seem to know. It features the very interesting Lumaxar 75mm F3.5 taking lens, a four-element predecessor to the Yashinon 80mm F3.5 found on most (if not all) later Yashica TLR 6X6 models.

The camera is in excellent condition in all respects with the following to note. The shutter speeds all sound correct, although 1 sec might be closer to 1.5 sec (it's hard to tell really - certainly close to 1 sec). The controls work normally. The taking lens is clean and clear, but has micro-coating scratches on the front element. I judge these as not being numerous enough to have noticeable impact on images, but I mention them for the sake of the perfectionists out there. There is some evident wear on the metal winding crank, but it is purely cosmetic and might polish out if you have some time and some metal polish. The viewing screen has acceptable brightness and nothing that will impede use (every vintage TLR could use at least a cleaning or better, an upgrade of their viewing screens).

Imagine this under your Christmas tree - perhaps even with your name on it?

Sold as shown with an aftermarket lens cap.

Price: $200 plus shipping
