I have been offered a Print safe which can store up to 1000 prints in sizes up to 40inches x 50inches. I am very tempted to acquire the safe as its made from 1inch thick metal and the door is twice that. Its also fire resistant and as secure as something you would find in a bank. My only concern is that I've never stored prints vertically. I've always stored them laying flat or rolled. The safe is big and requires specialists to move it. So before I get it I want advice, has anyone stored prints vertically for extended periods of time? are there long term issues I should be aware of?

I think the intent of such a safe is that mounted prints, even perhaps framed – not bare, be stored in it (vertically). There is an important existential argument here for providing at least some of your important prints with substantial support (i.e., mount them), to protect as well as present them.

Any chance of providing us with pix of the beast?
