Not sure if anyone will be in the Southern Maine area on May 26th @ 7:00pm, but the Ogunquit Museum of American Art is hosting a lecture about the life and work of Verner Reed:

Verner Reed: New England Life
May 26, 2015
7:00pm to 8:00pm
The life and work of photographer, Verner Reed, will be discussed by his daughter, Victoria Reed, Monica S. Sadler Curator for Provenance, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and his widow, Deborah Spring Reed. Verner Reed began as a furniture maker but discovered an artistic love for photography and soon opened a studio in Boston. A young John F. Kennedy came in to have his photograph taken for "Profiles in Courage." Reed's career was on assignment for LIFE magazine where he again photographed the by now Senator Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy. Later in his career, Reed became a respected jeweler and sculptor. Verner Reed: New England Life emphasizes the artist's ability to capture his subject's personality. Members, Always Free Non-Members, $10

The museum is also part of the Maine Photo Project that well be hosting exhibits of various photographers throughout the season.
