This past Fall, I shot a roll of Velvia 50 (the newer version) under sunny and shaded conditions, and accidently left the camera at ISO 160. How many stops should I have it push processed? I normally shot it at ISO 40. I'm thinking 2 stops.

2 stops is right - but pushing the film will increase the contrast (on what is already a ontrasty film) and you will get lot's of grain.
But there is only one way to find out ...

NEXT is wrong, I was suggesting a pull when a push was required:

(You know, with Tetenal E-6 kit reduce First Developer temperature to 30,6 °C and use the regular time, the rest of the processing should be done at usual 38.6º, so after first rinse you have to set 38.6 and wait until the bath temperature and chem is at 38.6 before throwing Color Developer in the tank. Perhaps you new that, but let me point it because I saw people doing all processing at 30,6 °C to pull, only 1st developer should be made at that lower temperature.

This will deliver less contrasty slides that may be less suitable for projection, but you will have less blown highlights so scanned images may be ok.)

So you are suggesting a pull when he should really be pushing 2 stops?!

Anyway, I've never pushed Velvia 50, but I regularly push Provia 100F two stops. I use 12min for the first developer (250ml in Jobo 1510 tank with CPE-2).

Sorry, it was a "short circuit" in the brain, you are right...

With Tetenal E-6 1st developer time should be extended some additional +2' 00'' to additional +5' 30'' for 1 or 2 stops push, depending on scenes. If important deep shadow detail was there I would push +2, if not then +1.
